Futsal and soccer may superficially look like similar sports, but there are some critical differences. One of the most significant differences is in the style of ball that players use. In futsal, balls tend to be “low-bounce” whereas, in indoor soccer, players use a regular style soccer ball.
The other significant difference between the two sports is that in indoor football, walls surround the court, preventing errant passes from leaving the field of play. The ball bounces back onto the court, and the game resumes. In futsal, on the other hand, balls can leave the field of play.

Indoor soccer and futsal are challenging sports, requiring quick changes of pace and direction. Because of this, the type of footwear players choose is an important decision. Players who have the right footwear can often outperform their rivals on the court with superior pace and control.

Taking a shot is potentially the most glorious moment in basketball. When the ball passes through the net with that perfect ‘swish’ sound it’s the stuff that dreams are made of for many aspiring young players. But, when taking a shot in-game it can also be a tremendous source of pressure for young players, especially those who are less than confident in their abilities. Thus, shooting drills and games are an important tool in every coach’s repertoire.

Any coach worth his or her salt knows the value of warm up exercises and games. Of course, they serve a practical purpose; they help players to limber up, help them to sharpen their skills and reduce the possibility of injury or strain. There’s also a secondary purpose to such exercises; they help the team to bond through an enjoyable shared experience. This not only gets them to function better as a unit it makes practice much more fun and builds that all-important sense of camaraderie among the team.

Wrestling is more than just a sport. It’s a time-honored tradition and one of the oldest and purest forms of martial arts. We’ve been grappling with one another for far longer than we’ve been fighting with our fists and feet. Wrestling is an extremely sophisticated sport that helps young people not only to build strength and endurance but discipline, sportsmanship and character development. Yet, it is no surprise to anyone that new coaches begin their careers with some trepidation.

It’s quite common for a youth basketball coach to be confused about where to begin when training new players.
